Mats StromMATS STRÖM

Mats Ström Brigadier General (ret). Has served as, among other things, brigade commander, regimental commander, logistics commander and in management positions at the Operational Command, at Headquarters and at the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration. Has also served in international management positions within the framework of UN, NATO and EU peacekeeping operations. Served at US CENTCOM as head of the Swedish liaison office. Today, advisor and consultant with assignments in the business community.

JOHAN LINDEVALL
Johan Lindevall

Johan Lindevall is a lieutenant colonel and a member of the academy since 2008. He belongs to Department III.

He retired from the Swedish Armed Forces in 2014 and was then Deputy Defence Attaché at the Swedish Embassy in Paris. He has a background as a pilot on S37 and JA37 aircraft and has served as a division commander of a JA37 fighter division. From 2000 to 2004 he served at the Swedish National Defence University, first as Head of the Air Operations Department and then as Head of the Joint Operations Department. He has also served at the European Union Military Staff and as a military advisor at the Permanent Representation of Sweden to the European Union.

He was appointed second secretary of the Royal Swedish Academy of Military Sciences in 2023.

Thomas EngevallTHOMAS ENGEVALL

Thomas Engevall is a rear admiral and reserve officer and is a member of
academy since 2003.

He was Head of the Command Staff at the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration between 2019 and 2022. Previously, he has been Head of Defence Logistics in the Swedish Armed Forces, Head of the implementation of the PRIO operational management system, CIO in the Swedish Armed Forces, Project Manager for the Visby Project at the Swedish Maritime Administration and Staff Engineer in the Coastal Fleet.

Engevall is a marine engineer and holds a Master of Science degree in Naval Architecture from Chalmers University of Technology. In addition to traditional military training, he has completed Naval Command
College (NCC) at the US Naval War College in Newport, RI and the Senior International Defence Management Course (SIDMC) at the US Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey. He is an honorary member of the Royal Swedish Naval Academy and was its chairman from 2010-2014.

TOMMY JEPPSSONTommy Jeppsson

Tommy Jeppsson is a lieutenant colonel. He has been a member of the academy since 2004 and belongs to Department V. He became an officer in 1974 at the Norrlands Trängregemente in Sollefteå. There he has served for three different periods of service in positions from platoon to battalion commander. He has completed higher military education in Sweden and Norway.

Jeppsson has a strong interest in strategic and security policy issues and has served as a teacher of strategy at the Swedish Armed Forces Staff College in Norway and at the Swedish and Finnish defense academies. International service has been carried out in the Middle East, Africa and the Balkans.

He was appointed editor of the Proceedings and Journal of the Royal Swedish Academy of Military Sciences in 2007.

LARS-ERIK LUNDINTommy Jeppsson

Lars-Erik Lundin Ambassador (ret.), Ph.D. Has served as Ministerial Counsellor at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, as the EU Commission's Deputy Head of Policy and Head of the EU Delegation to the International Organisations in Vienna. Served at the embassies in Luanda, Helsinki and Bonn and in the Swedish CSCE Delegation in Stockholm. Member of the Royal Swedish Academy of War Sciences since 2002, coordinator of the academy's study activities since 2022 and project manager for the SV-AR project. Distinguished Associate Fellow at SIPRI since 2014. Sole Investigator of the Convention on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons 2017-19.
