Drones – unmanned aerial vehicles – has received enormous attention in recent years. Rapid technological developments have given extensive military use, but also in the civilian sector, development is taking place on a broad front for, for example, agriculture and forestry, surveillance, search and transport. Sweden has good conditions to take a leading position.
The new book Drones/UAS – technology and capabilities with Stig Rydell as editor-in-chief and Mats Olofsson as editor, highlights drones and UAS (Unmanned Aircraft System) with the ambition to describe different aspects of the development. The book, in which more than twenty experts participate as authors, has been made possible through generous support from the Royal Patriotic Society and the Källviken Foundation.
