Documents and Journal

General

The Royal Swedish Academy of Military Sciences publishes Documents and Journal since 1796. Handlingar and Tidskrift, which were previously published as two separate publications, are once again a reality, the former in the form of a yearbook which will be published from 2024. Handlingar/yearbook has a focus on internal academy affairs.

The magazine aims to reflect the discussion and opinions, then and now, about our common safety and security. A delicate task that requires solid quality work without delays from the contributors under the editor's leadership. The editorial committee, which meets before the publication of each new issue, assists the editor.

Documents/Yearbook

In the Proceedings/Annual Book, the inaugural speeches given during the current year by newly elected members are published, which will also be published on the website. In addition, speeches given in connection with the Academy's anniversary and the annual report presented in connection with this.

An overview of the current situation regarding our members will be presented. A topical issue that has characterized the Academy's activities during the past year will be introduced, where the departments as well as individual members can influence the content. This may be a security policy overview, a current Academy project or some subject area that is important to highlight from an Academy perspective.

The Proceedings/Yearbook is of an internal Academy nature, primarily intended for the Academy's members. It is not intended to be published in its entirety in an English-language version. However, the opening speeches, as they are presented orally, will also be included on the website where, with the support of automatic translation, they can also be read in English. The annually recurring text that reflects a current Academy issue will also be included on the website with the option of reading in English.

The magazine
