Unit/department

The Royal Swedish Academy of Military Sciences aims to promote sciences of importance to Sweden's security and defense. The academy does this by following research and development of importance in the field.

The Academy's outreach activities consist of:

• organize symposia, seminars and lectures,
• carry out investigations,
• issue statements and responses to inquiries, etc.,
• support research and publication of writings,
• publish the academy's documents and journal, and
• distribute rewards.

The Academy meets at least six times a year. Meetings are held within each department at least three times a year. All members of the Academy are invited to these meetings.

The Academy and departmental meetings include annual reports from the departments, introductory speeches by new members, and presentations by external individuals. External individuals are also invited to participate in these program items.
